The first task of the AIM High Manager in the school - the person in the school who is responsible for looking after AIM High - is to set up key elements of the system. Unless this is done teachers will not be able to enter reports and use AIM High effectively.
Careful thought must be given to setting up the system in relation to the information (comments and grades and other assessments) that you want teachers to enter and also in relation to the final report printouts that you require.
Before teachers can start entering report comments and making assessments, there are a number of things that have to be done to prepare the system for report entry. Most of these can be done in the main AIM High program itself by someone who has Supervisor access rights to the program. Some things, however - such as setting up users - need to be done in the AIM High Manager program, which can be launched from AIM High.

To begin with you will need to define your
Schemes. There are Four types of Schemes, Grade Schemes, Report Schemes, Event Schemes and Assessment Periods:
Schemes generally need only be defined periodically when you first set up the program and unless your reports change significantly in terms of their data requirements, you do not need to make any changes to Grade Schemes or Report Schemes again. Report Schemes can be set up for a whole Key Stage, Year group or subject. You can also define Schemes for Pastoral as well as Subject reports, in fact any kind of reporting situation you may have.
Once you have defined your Schemes, then you need to set up your Report Templates. Report Templates enable you to associate a year group and subject with a Report Scheme and Assessment Period. Once this is done teachers can begin to enter reports for their teaching sets or pastoral groups.
